The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., one of the nation's largest insurers, has announced the appointment of Stephen M. Holcomb as president of Trumbull Services, LLC, its innovative subsidiary which provides outsourcing solutions to the insurance and financial services industries. The appointment is effective immediately.

Holcomb, who was most recently senior vice president at Specialty Risk Services, another subsidiary of The Hartford, replaces Ellen Wilcox, who has been named chief executive officer of ClaimPlace, an Internet-based claims filing service in which The Hartford is a major investor.
In naming Holcomb to head Trumbull Services, Michael Dury, chief financial officer of The Hartford's worldwide property and casualty operations, said, "Steve's strong leadership and considerable experience in strategy development and sales and marketing will drive Trumbull Services to new levels of expansion and profitability. The company is well poised to take advantage of the excellent growth opportunities in today's increasingly specialized marketplace."
At The Hartford's Specialty Risk Services, one of the nation's leading third-party administrators for the property-casualty insurance industry, Holcomb was in charge of strategic planning, national sales and marketing, and loss control. He joined The Hartford in 1983 and held several key finance and executive positions, including a two-year assignment as staff assistant to the chairman. Previously, he was affiliated with United Technologies Corporation. Holcomb holds an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
